When will fight start and how can I watch it?

Billy Joe Saunders looks to keep momentum in his bid to secure a super fight in 2021 with his first fight since the Covid-19 pandemic, which cost him an opportunity against Canelo Alvarez.

The WBO super middleweight world champion remains unbeaten but after the pandemic postponed his fight, the Mexican superstar agreed to fight domestic rival Callum Smith, who owns the WBC title at 168 pounds.

British veteran Martin Murray is Saunders’ opponent at the SSE Arena this evening, with the pair supposed to have fought years ago but for an injury to Saunders.

Should Saunders impress, then Canelo may revisit a potential fight against him in 2021, though Murray is likely to throw everything at him in his final opportunity at this level from a great career that has seen the biggest prize prove illusive.

Recapping a great night of boxing; Tyson-Jones did not disappoint. Easily worth the money and I’d watch again.

Re Tyson-Jones

I loved every second of it. The whole card was great. The prelims were outstanding bouts. I had no idea Jake Paul and Nate Robinson were fighting. Like most I wanted Robinson to win that one but they both threw very crisp shots, clean, very good technique given this is not their sport. My only critique of the night would be the officiating. How many seconds was it before he allowed that fight to continue after the first knock down? I didn’t like how that was handled. I need to see it again. Did he still give him the eight count even after he got up, he never grabbed his gloves, did the chest rub, he just wasn’t demonstrative enough for me as an official to determine if a boxer can continue. Bit of a hindsight look at it given what happened seconds later I know but prior

Buffalo jumped into the driver’s seat in the MAC’s East division with a 70-41 win over Kent State last week and will look to stay there on Saturday when the Bulls play at Ohio in one of six games on CBS Sports Network this weekend. But the 2-1 Bobcats should have a pretty good idea of how to slow Buffalo down, because it’s a recipe that has worked for them the past two seasons. It’s all about stopping Jaret Patterson.

A junior running back coming off a 1,799-yard season, Patterson made his name known around the country last week when he tied an FBS record with eight rushing touchdowns against Kent State. In all, he finished with 409 yards on the ground, falling just short of another FBS record. But in two career games against Ohio, Patterson has run for just 75 yards on 21 carries.

Lewie Edmondson has been tipped to become a world champion by his manager Billy Joe Saunders

Billy Joe Saunders is determined to secure his legacy and the next few years will determine whether he is able to do just that.

The two-weight world champion might have business to deal with in four-time world title challenger, Martin Murray on Friday night, live on Sky Sports, but it appears the current WBO Super Middleweight world champion already has one eye on the future with two of his brightest prospects given the opportunity to shine on the same card.

Standout amateurs, Donte Dixon and Lewie Edmondson inked a managerial deal with Saunders alongside MTK Global and both are benefitting under the 31-year-old’s experience.

Edmondson (3-0) has been operating at Light Heavyweight since turning over after a stellar amateur career which saw the Southampton native amass 52 victories and claim three-nations titles, just missing

Daniel Dubois should watch greats like Muhammad Ali and Ken Buchanan to see why he is being dubbed a ‘quitter’

DANIEL DUBOIS must be distraught that his boxing brothers added insult to his eye injury by branding him a quitter.

When Dubois dropped down on one knee, allowing the ref to count him out, he not only lost his British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles to Joe Joyce, but the respect of many fellow pros.

Carl Frampton, David Haye, Dillian Whyte and Chris Eubank Jr are among those who regarded his tame surrender as a serious breach of the sport’s unwritten code of conduct.

Going back to the bare knuckle days, beaten champions are expected to be carried out on their shields.

Now Holyfield wants in – stop paying to watch old people punch each other

Guess who wants another go at Mike Tyson?

Guess who wants another go at Mike Tyson?

Ughhhhhhhhhh!

As if we needed a resolution for the infamous ear-biting debacle of 1997.

Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, and Roy Jones Jr. are legends. Three of the best ever by all accounts. At a time where a pandemic is still ravaging the alleged “world’s greatest country,” and where we’re learning more about CTE than in any prior generation, we should not be encouraging these men, well past their best days, and all past very tragic ones, to return to the ring in any capacity.

After being either inspired or left out by Tyson and Jones this past Saturday, Holyfield posted this on Monday.

Which evidently was going to set up this today, confirming that he did not only feel distant from the club, but offended at his non-participation.

Respectfully, Evander, the
